What Is Headquarters?

In WorldTracer, Headquarters is the term given to the team responsible for managing mishandled bags after a defined number of days, when the original controlling station has been unable to match and close the file.

Tip:

In your airline or company, this team may have another name, such as the Claims Department, Secondary Tracing Office, Baggage Tracing Office, or Compensation Office.

When responsibility for a file passes to the Headquarters, the Controlling Station is automatically set to HDQ (Headquarters). All matches and messages related to the file are then sent to the Headquarters Inbox.

Headquarters Configuration — Station

You can display the Headquarters configuration for a station:

Menu: Administration > Station > Management > Basic Options > Matches and Prompts Delivery Attributes.

The controlling station is the station currently in control of a Delayed Bag File. System matches and prompts related to the file are sent to the controlling station.

During primary tracing, the controlling station is usually the station that created the file.

Usually the Headquarters (HDQ) (or another station) becomes the controlling station after a number of days, and then receive the matches for this file. This is determined by the settings in the Station configuration.

In the example below, the Headquarters for airline XS (HDQXS) becomes the controlling station after five days.

Note:

The station configuration takes priority over the airline configuration.
